"The perfect, traditional Eau-de-Vie, this Massenez Vieille Prune is the result of combining the best selections of plums and aging them in a barrel. The fruit used to create the G.E. Massenez Vieille Prune Eau-de-Vie are plump, round plums that come from orchards in Alsace and which mature in October. This strong Eau-de-Vie is removed from the still and then aged in oak barrels for several years. It then softens to become an eau-de-vie with great finesse and subtlety. Highly popular before the second world war, the Vieille Prune Eau-de-Vie is coming back even stronger today, seducing a growing number of connoisseurs both within France and abroad. It is famous for its digestive qualities and can be sipped at the same temperature as a cup of tea."
