Chimay

Chimay is a brand of Trappist beer and cheese produced by the monks of Scourmont Abbey, a monastery in Hainaut, Belgium. The monks founded the abbey in 1850 and began brewing beer in 1862. The revenue from the sales supports the monastic community and various charitable works. All Chimay products bear the "Authentic Trappist Product" label, certifying they are made inside a monastery under the supervision of monks. Chimay offers several bottled, bottle-fermented ales, including Chimay Red (a dark ale with a fruity taste), Chimay Blue (a complex, strong dark ale), and Chimay Triple (a dry, hoppy golden ale).
